Stages in the building process

Stages finished:

  • Purchasing drawings, july 2002.
  • Ordering materials strongback and building jig, sept. 2002.
  • setting up the strongback, sept. 2002.
  • Erecting Moulds from drawing onto Plywood, sept. 2002.
  • Setting up Building Jig, okt 2002.
  • Internal structure: Stem, hog and transom,  nov. 2002
  • Strip Planking, started november 2002,  finished july 2003
  • cleaning hull outside and making keel and outer stem (not mounting yet)
  • Turning upright (1st time)
  • cleaning inside
  • making Frames and coating inside (automn 2003)
    Internal structure: inwhale, bilge runner, engine bearers and floors (spring 2004)
  • Keel, propeller shaft, rudder, bilge runners (march-may 2004)
  • glass sheating outside (may 2004)
  • final mounting keel, stem, outer bilge runners (june 2004)
  • painting outside (june -july 2004)
  • turning upright again, finishing engine bearers and propeller shaft (sept 04)

  • bigger whistle (like build by Frenk Fontijn and mounted on SL Orion)
