This and linked pages describe the building process of my 17,9" steam launch.

The proces started in 2002 with just an idea. I will document the whole process and will desrcibe every decision I had to take, beginning with what kind of hull, engine, boiler, upto used materials, what kind of fuel, how to machine, where to purchase materials, etc.

Since I am a  beginner in this field, there will be a lot to describe, nothing is obvious, logic or normal to me. I hope this site will be of use to anybody who is interested in making a steam launch him/her self.

To prove myself that I can make a steam engine, I build a Weir feed pump. This became a succesfull project of which I am very proud.  Although the pump is not needed to sail the launch, I will add it to the steam plant just for fun.
