Internal structure

Frames
Propellor shaft

November 2003
The internal structure consists of the bilge runner, inwhale, floors and engine bearer.
Inhwhale and bilge runner are laminated of two strips of 15mm each, laminated in situ. Before laminating them, I first put epoxy on the backside of the first strip since you will never be able to get there with your brush once they are in position.
The midsection, for carrying the engine and boiler.

The floors before mounting.
Above the pictures illustrate the problem if you want to mount the floors to the frames, but the frames are not perpendicular to the keel. I chose to make the frames perpendicular to the hull at the specific location of the frame. This means that the more you come to the stem or the transom, the bigger the angle of the frame to the keel. This makes t he frames much easier to make AND stronger. The side effect is that one has to be a bit more creative to fit in the floor.
